Since 2005 the Airmax Group (Airmax) has developed an in-depth knowledge of vehicle electronics and a range of communications and database based technologies. This knowledge has enabled Airmax to design and build both garage scan tools and remote diagnostics units for vehicles. We have successfully supplied some of the largest fleets in the UK and more increasingly overseas.

Our success, coupled with a robust diversification strategy, has fuelled customer demand for new services in the design and development of technologies and components for automotive applications. This growth has enabled us to build and implement an operations centre offering full customer support, based in Meriden, Coventry. This award winning service (Business Car Award 2010) has inspired us to develop new services of major benefit to the corporate sector.

More recently we have diversified away from our core telematics business to the development of web services (cloud computing). These innovations include payment services, broadband mobile communications, expense management, loyalty and e-rewards schemes. Our aim is to co join these services to create a web based micro payment system unlocking new services and to offer ‘roam free’ mobile broadband.

A rigorous and comprehensive product quality assurance policy is implemented across our business. Quality engineering is embedded in processes, procedures and team ethics; we operate under recognised quality management systems. Airmax has a dedicated workforce, focused on providing high quality products and solutions to meet ever-demanding customer needs.

Airmax’s key staff and contractors originate predominately from either GEC Marconi or BAE SYSTEMS background. However this legacy is increasingly strengthened with new recruits and company acquisitions.

The Airmax team has in-depth understanding of vehicle communication systems (e.g. CANbus and J1939) and both satellite (GPS) and terrestrial positions systems and techniques. We also have significant experience with a broad range of short-range and long range tagging solutions (125kHz to 2.45 GHz).

Airmax, via its branded telematics unit – Airmax Remote, offers a low cost and proprietary GSM based technology for collecting and delivering comprehensive, real-time automotive diagnostic data and satellite-based location services to leasing companies, scheme insurers, fleets, car owners, dealers and other potential vehicle data users.

This solution combines remote diagnostics (RVD) and GPS technology to provide a rich source of vehicle data that reaches beyond simple vehicle tracking (AVL) and security products and is an evolution in design as the system is no longer  installed by complicated procedures and involving wire cutting but a patented plug-in.

2011 will see the launch of an Airmax Scope branded payment card offering a comprehensive and itemised reports being unprecedented in the current market.
