We have examined in detail the user experience for those using mobile and fixed call services and have developed a new user interface tool. We believe we are the first to offer to both the business community and the consumers the tools to manage all outgoing business and private calls together with a very competitive usage rate. UK Businesses with a roam2 corporate account can issue their own SIMs and activate, bar and manage their own service. It’s very empowering as it gives you full control. Call records also report in real-time so no more 30 days anxiety before you receive your cost sheets.
With roam2 simply dial and enjoy low cost international calling. Call rates can be as low as 1.5p per minute from your mobile. You can also add other numbers to your account so if you have free minutes on another network you can add the number to your portal and use it. Fixed line numbers can be added. Non roam2 SIMs will require access codes before dialling.
We use a licensed BT interconnected network operator with a switching infrastructure that is based on the latest generation equipment from leading Citrus Telecommunications.
We manage and facilitate the design, technical implementation and support required to operate sophisticated telecom platforms. Whether you need a packaged or a tailored service the roam2 solution removes the need for growing infrastructure, initiating complex technical development and large outlay.
A switch partition enables the provision of a wide array of standard services and we add in to this increased functionality dependent upon need and will design and build bespoke services upon request. Unlimited tariffs can be built and all services are real-time rated and billed and are set on a pre pay basis. Traffic and revenue reporting and CDR’s are all available via the customer interface.
How it works

The roam2 SIM recognises the international telephone number and dials automatically, simply dial and offers low cost international calling from the UK.
roam2 is a pre-pay service with no hidden costs or maintenance charges. All mobile VoIP to VoIP calls are free anywhere in the world, however you do require to be issued with a SIP number which will attract a small fee and some switch providers may offer a monthly access fee.
Once set up, your account can be expanded to allow calls via your nominated mobile or fixed line number. You do not have to use the roam2 SIM to use the service. Office or home VoIP calls can also be programmed into the system.

Mobile VoIP or Mobile Broadband is a new way of using your mobile phone by routing calls over the internet rather than via traditional mobile operators – thus cutting out the middle man and saving you money.
Mobile VoIP works wherever you have access to the internet via Wi-Fi or over 3G if your network provider allows it.
This can mean your home, office, public areas or commercial hotspots (coffee shops, airports etc). You will be able to make free or VoIP-rate calls from any area where you have logged in. You may have to pay for access but there are plenty of free hot spots
Mobile VoIP is an extension of mobility to a Voice over IP network.
There are several methodologies by which a mobile handset can be integrated into a VoIP network. One implementation turns the mobile device into a standard SIP client, which then uses a data network to send and receive SIP messaging, and to send and receive RTP for the voice path. This methodology of turning a mobile handset into a standard SIP client requires that the mobile handset support, at minimum, high speed IP communications. In this application, standard VoIP protocols (typically SIP) are used over any broadband IP-capable wireless network connection.
Another implementation of mobile integration uses a soft switch like gateway to bridge SIP and RTP into the mobile network’s SS7 infrastructure. In this implementation, the mobile handset continues to operate as it always has (as a GSM or CDMA based device), but now it can be controlled by a SIP application server which can now provide advanced SIP based services to it. Several vendors offer this kind of capability today.
Mobile VoIP will require a compromise between economy and mobility. For example, Voice over Wi-Fi offers potentially free service but is only available within the coverage area of a Wi-Fi Access Point. High speed services from mobile operators using EVDO rev A or HSDPA may have better audio quality and capabilities for metropolitan-wide coverage including fast handoffs among mobile base stations, yet it will cost more than the typical Wi-Fi-based VoIP service.
Mobile VoIP will become an important service in the coming years as device manufacturers exploit more powerful processors and less costly memory to meet user needs for ever-more ‘power in their pocket’. The challenge for the mobile operator industry is to deliver the benefits and innovations of IP without losing control of the network service. Users like the Internet to be free and high speed without extra charges for visiting specific sites. Such a service challenges the most valuable service in the telecommunications industry — voice — and threatens to change the nature of the global communications industry.
